Marking a 3rd street effort milestone, Elliott BROOD is the reason we began booking and promoting independent Canadian artists in Medicine Hat. The Alt Rock/Country trio, often described as "Death Country" is touring following the release of their latest album, "Days Into Years,"and we're overjoyed to have them.

The Toronto-based band includes no one by the name of Elliott. The Brood, only a shadowy figure constructed out of vocalist/guitarist/ukulele and banjo-picker Mark Sasso, guitarist/vocalist/ukulele-picker Casey LaForet and drummer Steve Pitkin, has a way of sounding like a ghost from the past while remaining firmly rooted in the modern times. It’s like a traveller, part preacher/part snake-oil salesman, who has rolled his covered wagon right out of the 19th century and parked it in the 21st.

Their third full length release of roof-raising rhythm stomp and mandolin collides with luscious harmonies, piano and, for the first time, electric guitar, that is admittedly "loud, heavy and rock n' roll". Crowd participation is all part of the infectious excitement of an Elliott BROOD performance, clapping, stomping and sometimes clanging along with wooden spoons and pans distributed by the band.

Pop Off! in the Park

HOODED FANG, with PARLOVR and GOOSE HUT

Sunday, June 24th 4:00 - 7:00pm
Riverside Park - next to city hall
tickets $10 (available at Madhatter Roastery, Downtown)

Three great bands featured in the acclaimed music festival, POP Montreal, will visit Medicine Hat this June for an all ages outdoor show not to be missed!

Hooded Fang brings a melodic tide of scrappy, surf influenced guitar, and 60's drum breaks, a perfect soundtrack to kick off the summer.

Buzzed for their seizure-inducing live shows, Parlovr has an impressive touring record, playing with Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Handsome Furs, Born Ruffians and Tokyo Police Club. A blend of retro surf and soul, nestled within hyper modern pop, Parlovr promises to deliver the heat.
